Definitely my favourite share at the moment. May I remind everyone here the potential of the deal with Broadcom. Extracted the following from article in Financial Times dated 25/09/2001:
*Mr van Someren said: "International Data Corp (the research house) has put a $650m price on this market over the next three or four years, and if we can share that with Broadcom who have a good sales channel, and deal with the likes of Cisco, it seems like a good opportunity for us."
He also said Ncipher expected to make product announcements in the fourth quarter and that the deal would begin to impact sales figures early next year.
Although unwilling to quantify exactly how much the agreement could be worth to Ncipher - which he said would meet analysts' consensus of about £13.5m of sales for 2001 - but Mr van Someren drew a parallel with competitor group Rainbow.
"We have some rivals in this space starting to realise revenues of $5m to $10m per quarter, and I think this product will blow them away," he said.*
