LONDON (AFX) - MyTravel Group PLC said the earthquakes and tsunamis in South
East Asia are not expected to have a "material impact" on it meeting its
business plan.
The company said about 5,400 customers were in the areas affected by the
Indian Ocean earthquake on Dec 26. It has accounted for all its UK customers,
but said some customers from Northern Europe were unaccounted for, the majority
of whom were in Phuket in Thailand.
The earthquake will have some negative impact on the results of the Northern
Europe division, but the company said it will take steps to minimise this.
The company said it has confirmed reports of seven fatalities among its
customers.
Customers due to travel to the affected areas in the near future are being
offered refunds or alternative arrangements as appropriate, it added.
