Moneta Porcupine Mines Inc. has made the following management changes and appointments:
Kevin L. Snook has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Moneta. Mr. Snook served as managing director in the Toronto Financial Advisory Services of Deloitte & Touche LLP, specializing in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He is also a director and chairman of the audit committee of Geoinformatics Exploration Inc. and investment manager of the Niagara Growth Fund Inc. Mr. Snook was a co-founder of AirBoss of America Corporation and served as its first president, and he also worked internationally in field operations for five years in the resource sector with Schlumberger Ltd.
John Larche is stepping down as president and chief executive officer, but will remain an active director of Moneta, and Rod Whyte will continue as chairman of the company.
Moneta's board of directors is undertaking a review of the company's strategy and operations in view of the present price level and rising trend of gold bullion. The company intends to increase its level of exploration activity in the Golden Highway camp significantly in the next year and evaluate potential property acquisitions and other partnerships.
Moneta will be establishing a Toronto office, while maintaining its base of operations in Timmins, Ont.
