Going on other people's posts, we have the usual rubbish from the resident crap-spouter. Let me once again recommend the filter to everyone else. Why is it still here - posting about a share it clearly doesn't rate? The question has been posed I think 5 or 6 times but strangely for one with such verbal diarrhoea, there is a most unusual silence on this subject.
It will be interesting to see if the recent changes and clear determination to get a deal done on cetili will translate into news early in the New Year. There is nothing to be gained from delay with cetili, and it would be more difficult for CB1 antagonists to gain a place in the market if cetili was clearly progressing.
There is no doubt that CB1 antagonists / inverse agonists are a fascinating group of drugs and I think in 5 years we will see endocannabinoid analogues / antagonists in a wide range of applications such as neuropathic pain, rheumatoid and other seropositive arthritides etc etc. The main problem with obesity is that S/E are far less tolerable for a condition such as obesity compared to neuropathic pain or erosive arthritis. I am sure that the relevant companies are going all guns blazing at the moment to determine if there are subtypes of the CB1 receptor.
Dean - PS - I have major concerns over OXB. Although there clearly is upside with the much anticipated deal, this is already in the public arena, so I don't imagine there will be much more than the predictable knee-jerk spike on the day of the announcement followed by an equally rapid fall as all the short termers get out. I strongly suspect that Trovax will prove very disappointing in phase III trials - it would certainly be expected given previous immune based therapies for renal cancer. I am neither short nor long so have no interest in seeing them up or down, but if you are thinking of jumping aboard, my advice would be to take a profit ASAP if you see one. You never know until the data are published of course so I may be completely wrong - but if you read the BB all you will hear is the same old stuff being endlessly recycled by people in a triumph of hope over knowledge.
Happy New Year!
