BILL ALLAN, chief executive of Thus
A surprise choice perhaps, given Thus’s appalling share price performance. But Allan deserves credit for holding the company together and plotting its demerger from parent company ScottishPower. The group has next to no debt, is growing revenue and has made good on its promises to the City over the past year. Although shareholders who bought into the company during the TMT boom may not agree, Thus’s continued survival and reasonable long-term potential is a tribute to Allan and his boardroom team.
