Gold continues to consolidate above $500-an-ounce level
NEW YORK (AFX) -- Gold futures rose early Tuesday, pulling the broader
metals sector higher, as the metal continued to consolidate gains above the
$500-an-ounce level. Gold for February delivery was last trading up $4.60 at
$509.80 an ounce. Silver was up 11.50 cents at $8.76 an ounce, platinum rose
$6.70 to $972 an ounce and palladium rose $4.95 to $262.50 an ounce. Copper
added 2.55 cents to $2.065 a pound.
