bud, don't know the artist he is clearly a regional English painter, maybe in the £700-5000 region? A great deal depends on the provenance of the painting and desirability of artist. If you didnt research him from a book of known artists I'd tend to avoid but probably he is in there.
I started buying fine art 12-13 years ago, mostly oil paintings by the 'Scottish Colorists' Peploe Fergusson Caddel and Leslie Hunter.
sold one , a McTaggart, for 12K having bought it for 2K, but the other one I only got a doubler at 4K after 12 years, so you have to be happy to enjoy the painting on the wall. By then you get attached to it and wont want to sell. and what is my hobby? painting, and by the time I sold the McGlaughline Milne, I was able to make a copy for my own wall - so I still have it, and mine is brighter than the original.
