Bezeq and YES to test broadcasting via ADSL
Minister of Communications Ehud Olmert: The test will not be a factor in approving the service.

The Ministry of Communications today granted approval for Bezeq (TASE:BZEQ) and satellite broadcaster YES to test broadcasting over an ADSL network. Minister of Communications Ehud Olmert said, "The test will not be a factor in approving the service."
The Ministry of Communications thereby allows YES to cooperate with its parent company Bezeq, which is considered a monopoly and which owns 50% of YES. The test is also an innovation for a platform for television broadcasting that in future might compete against other multi-channel television broadcasting platforms, i.e. cable.
The 300 people participating in the test of the platform will be able to fully control the content they watch. For instance, they will be able to stop watching a program, and resume watching later. The test will examine the new technology, which is based on a service developed by Emblaze Group (LSE: BLZ) subsidiary Orca Interactive.
