Tech Watch: More hiring and firing at Emblaze Group
Ra'anana-based Emblaze Group said Tuesday it plans to close its Emblaze Systems unit and fire 20 workers.
The move comes shortly after the group bought Vcon Technologies in August, which had absorbed 40 workers from Systems. Following the realignment Emblaze would be left with 600 workers spread across its five subsidiaries - Adamind, Visual Defense, Orca, Emblaze Mobile, and Emblaze Vcon.
Separately, Emblaze's Visual Defense unit said it has bought the division of Accent Technologies that specializes in providing security systems for the banking sector through its Dvir product. Industry sources estimated the value of the deal at $500,000. Visual gains entry into the banking sector in Israel where Dvir is used in some 1,000 branches. Visual previously had provided its communications systems only to the homeland security and defense markets. Visual said it would hire new staff to add to its current 15 employees, including those gained in the deal.
