Contrary to popular misconception Howdens pricing trends are much the same as they always were. MFI has increased its MRP in the pre-sale price establishment period, they have then offered a 50% plus 25% sale offer-the net result is still higher prices. Howdens, however, are still approximately £30 per carcass price cheaper via a trade account than MFI retail. As regards your question on pricing trends with Howdens each depot is run as an individual business unit & has the autonomy & flexibility to determine its own pricing policy on a daily basis dependent on trade through the door.
