Meridian Petroleum PLC : Onwards into 2007/2008

The Company is acquiring an additional 5% Working Interest, 3.5% Net Revenue
Interest, in the Emery Hudson 2-27 well. This brings the companies total Working Interest to 53.5%. The company expects soon to commence a high angled step out well into the large Niagaran reef, and a drilling rig is scheduled to be on site on the 1st of September. The company will update shareholders of progress with this large and strategically important asset as appropriate.
