'Max Petroleum expects to produce 2,500 bopd by year end


LONDON (AFX) - Max Petroleum PLC said it expects to produce 2,500 bopd by
the end of 2006.
The oil and gas exploration company operating in Kazakhstan said the
quantity and quality of prospects is encouraging.
It plans to drill a total of 30 shallow wells up to a depth of 1,000 metres
by the end of the year, of which two wells, the ZMA-1X and ZMA-2X, have
already been successfully drilled, completed and are now producing. Drilling
operations on the third well, the ZMA-4X, are ongoing.'
