Matalan to go private cheap as chips !

well, went to my local store today.. very impressed.. many empty rails and shelves which means very little to write off at the end of the year.. massive queues and with many people off all week i would expect most of the good stuff to be gone before the end of the week. completely different circumstances to 12 months ago. despite what some media stories may indicate, matalan looks like its had a cracking christmas compared to last year and to current forecasts.. anyone else been out and about? M&S also looked suprisingly busy today with many empty shelves...

homeware sale doesnt start until 8th Jan which should give plenty of time for bargain hunters to pick up full prices items while getting 50% off their clothing. not all clothing is 50% off which was encouraging, mens suits for example are still full price and appear to be selling well... i think the city is in for a pleasant shock this year.. for a change...
