Marconi Warrants a Closer Look

I believe that Marconi is on a knife edge. It has started making Customer Engineers (technical sales)compulsorily redundant. I know as I am one of them. It is very true that we have been very quiet between mid 2001 and mid 2002, but recently the operators have been starting to think about where they will need to make what investments they are able to make in order to increase their income/profits. That means that for the last 6 months we have been extremely busy. Just when it appears that the up-turn may just be thinking about starting, Marconi reduces it's ability to respond. Time will tell if it was the right decision but it would take a very brave investor to commit a substancial sum to this company. I will hold on to my (practically) worthless shares as the ~£50 won't make much difference now but should they climb back to their purchase price the £4000+ may be usefull.
