"The only area we have not started to push is the UK and next year we are going to start," he said, adding that the acquisition target was already "doing quite a large turnover".
Again large is relative. Marchpole turned over 40m last year. On a touchy feely non scientific basis I would say quite a large must mean 10m to 20m, although an absolute base is perhaps 5m.
Hardy Amies would be a nice idea (see HRD) but not sure as some recent VenCap (49.9 % Arev) involvement & low turnover?. They also just bought their Menswear license back from BMB, so not sure their strategy suggests Marchpole. But the needs of the brand for global / UK relaunch suggest Marchpole might otherwise be an ideal partner.
Current Mcap 3.4m based on SP of 1.62p. VenCap buy-in was at 3p - equiv mcap 6.3m. So unless the company is severely distressed the price would be expected to be above 6m. Which is coincidentally about the value in shares of our "incorrect" block listing. Hmmm..
Tum te tum. Hopefully that should start a rumour at least!
