egoi you say: “this morning's news is a meaningful setback“. I at least have known for years that loq had an outstanding patent infringement case – as touch2002 points out this is no great secret. I believed the claim to be spurious, and I knew loq intended to defend it (remember they had already defeated a Disney counter-claim.) As far as I'm concerned, this morning's news is a step forward, as it clears out a piece of old baggage that had already consumed quite a lot of time and money and could have turned out very expensive indeed in the unlikely event that they had lost.
You go on to say: “as well of course as exposing the much exaggerated myth Lo-Q has no competitors”. Palmtop is not a competitor to Loq – their claim was spurious and as far as I'm aware they've never used it in a real implementation. Or perhaps you can show us otherwise?
You also say “not ten, but still an improvement”. I don't know where you got the figure of ten from, but it was never offered by loq themselves, and as far as I can see is pure speculation on your part. Seven is excellent and will result in greatly increased operating profit next year.
Your deramping may be gentle, but is no less obvious for all that.
