moonbase - if lloyds bid for anything - one thing is for sure in the current climate - price will almost certainly plumment. I hope lloy do not bid for anything or there are no rumours - we have had enough of the divdend rumours. Lloyds are not a darling of the city - any excuse to knock the price down. Anyway I hope the new man at the top has got same sense and does not go for any bids. Lloy probably needs to demerger some or all of its life + insurance business and concentrate on retail banking. Lets get the price to a good valuation. Yes I am long on lloy.
