12/27/2006
Global Interactive Gaming (GIG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Interactive Systems Worldwide’s (Nasdaq: ISWI), has launched a sports-wagering product called SportXction on the Web site www.betshop.com. Earlier this month, GIG signed a contract with a subsidiary of BetShop Group, a London online sports betting and casino gaming business, to integrate its play-by-play sports-betting offering into BetShop’s Web site. ISWI is a developer of sports wagering software in West Paterson.
The initial launch of the SportXction system on Betshop’s Web site is in English. Both companies are working on launches of the system in languages other than English, with releases planned for early next year. GIG will offer play-by-play wagering on more than 1,600 events in the coming year on soccer, tennis, golf, cricket, rugby, snooker, basketball and darts. The system can accept wagers from the Internet, handheld wireless devices, interactive televisions and standalone kiosks. The system can be used for any live broadcast event worldwide.
