Thanks - and my 2006 CGT bill is greater than I could ever imagine - more than my salary at the top of the scale for a senior lecturer at a college of further education before I retired in 1992 :-(

Good wishes to all - I am now buying AIM shares that aren't listed elsewhere so I hope to benefit from business assets tax relief - but that will probably be withdrawn within 2 years so I get stuffed again.
