I very much appreciate your posts also. Clearly Mr. Burford's story has changed as, probably from reading this very BB, the takeover panel realise potential liability and negligence from not having done anything. By changing their story, I expect their potential liability is greatly reduced. It might have gone something like this -

Burford - "Could I speak to Dr. Rybak please?"
Secretary - "I'm sorry, he is away from my desk at moment. Could I ask who's calling?"

Burford - "It's Burford, Mr. Burford. The Takeover guy. Shaken and stirred".

Secretary - "Hold on caller. NO! Not you Dr! Ooooer missus! Sorry Mr. Burford, I won't keep you".

Rybak - "Burford!"

Burford - "Hello Rybak. Listen, I don't know how much longer we can go on without announcing this. It seems everyone has got wind except those idiots on ADVFN."

Rybak - "Like I said yesterday, I don't understand what you are meaning by this until tomorrow when I will have enough for bigger house and car and your, how you say, sweetener to keep you sweet."

Burford - "OK. OK. Tomorrow is your last chance. If you don't announce by tomorrow then I am going to but hopefully it won't come to that."

Rybak - "You know it's this Bermuda rule thing, no one tells no one nothing there. This takeover all part of plan by Pearson to take heat off himself otherwise I have no problem to sell more you see? I mean I am not understanding until tomorrow. Call me tomorrow."

I wonder if takeover panel have their phone conversations recorded? Rybak is clearly pretty stupid, so is Pearson. Unfortunately we have been even more stupid despite apparently genuine RNS info. I have learned from this I could list a company and easily release an RNS tomorrow saying anything I like.

I think stupidity will have shined through on emails to/from Pearson which are now being investigated thoroughly. SFO guys, if you're reading this PLEASE don't forget the tape backups of Pearson's mailbox that IT (should) have going back over the last few months. I have no doubt it would be very interesting.
