Anom has suggested that shorters get paid in the event of a winding up, I will ring IG later and ask them.
What I didn't understand was the spreadbeters winding it down to zero before the end of the contract when the share was only suspended. I would have thought they should have waitied for the end of the December contract period, ie the third Friday in December.
What this issue has raised is that if you have a stoploss, you have to be very sure you can cover a total loss per point down to zero when you place a spreadbet, otherwise you could end up like others who posted on this thread a while ago.
