La Tasca with Charts

As a holder i searched for restaurant reviews and am a bit concerned about some of the comments i found! - I copy a few:

"Myself and partner headed for La Tasca in trepidation and excitement. After all, this place had gained so much grapevine positivity and we were both fans of tapas. I think that's where the positiveness ends and the nightmare begins. I'll keep this short. Packed out; no booking; expensive beers; eventual table similar to eating in the concourse of Victoria Station; lack of service; food arrives (literally) three and a half minutes after placing order; poor food portions; lack of taste; out of door within 35 minutes of arraiving.

To me, the only thing lacking is the gold M for fast food trash. What a truly awful place. No care in food preparation (it's almost as if they are proud of the fact that the food arrives faster than a Happy Meal), and loud and claustrophobic atmosphere. Never again."

"The restaurant looks quite inviting, but looks can be deceiving. We ordered a total of 6 different tapas dishes between two of us and, to be fair, the food arrived shortly after ordering (this was approx 13:30).

Now I know that tapas consists of a mix of hot & cold dishes, but I do expect the hot dishes to be so - sadly the staff don't appear to agree. After querying the temperature of the food and getting basically blank stares we did manage to get the 3 dishes replaced with ones that we could actualy see some steam rising from.

Overall the dishes were bland, tasting much the same as each other and generally nowhere near as good as some of the worst tapas bars I have been in.

When you add the expensive prices (£3.95 for 4 prawns - and not large prawns either) you wind up with an experience that should be avoided at all costs.

In a nutshell, if you want Tapas - dont bother with La Tasca."


"I have now been there three times now, all with the same experience. Once when it had just opened and the other times I had to because my friends did not listen to my advice. The 1st two times we went all the food was cold but we were all so hungry and had had to wait so long, we decided to eat the small uninspiring potions. On the last occasion however we were a group of sixteen. The same happened but this time we sent food back for reheating but the new dishes just kept on coming out cold. We finally spoke to the manager explained out disappointment sent all the food back settled the drinks bill and left. This my 1st time of ever having to do this and I will certainly never go there again."

HOPE MANAGEMENT ARE AWARE OF THE SITUATION - ESPECIALLY THE PROBLEM OF COLD FOOD BEING SERVED.
