I am currently reading a book by Keith Charles, The Psychic Detective. In the book, Keith talks about Robert Maxwell and his disappearance off his luxury yacht Lady Ghislaine in the Canary Islands in 1991. Keith writes "A group of five men, highly trained in underwater survival and underwater combat skills comparable to those of Britain's SAS had been put together by a Middle East power to remove Robert Maxwell. These assassins climbed aboard the yacht, took him from his bed and into the water sometime after midnight".
Keith goes on to write:
"Maxwell had a meeting a few months before his death with his 'masters', so he knew he was not going to get what he'd been promised. He was up to his neck in his own skulduggery over the illegal theft of pension funds, and failed promises from abroad. But his big mistake was to threaten these people that he intended to tell the world what was going on. He believed in his own importance, and believed he would get away with bullying those in power as he had done in business".
