There seem to be a few of us ‘new boys’ on the Jarvis thread – I wonder why ?
I trade using Abbey online sharedealing (setup when I was an Abbey National employee), it seems expensive at £12.50 per trade – but I have had no problems requesting Buy/Sell quotes when others have been unable to trade, may move following the comments posted above.
I would also like to say “Thank You” to a few people :-
Madgooner - for his balanced comments and his especially lucid heading to this thread.
Jerry170 & Carlisle38 – whose comments back in November helped me decide to buy.
And more recently BlackBear and Whiterussian who was exceptional with L2 today.
Venomousviper also seems to know what he is talking about – in my humble opinion of course.
All these are also honest enough to admit that they have got it wrong as well as right both on Jarvis and other shares, so as always – make your own decisions.
I found ADVFN by accident whilst looking for information on Jarvis and the Jarvis 2004 Outlook thread helped me decide. I bought in November (a relatively small punt with cash I was prepared to lose) at 11.5 on the way down, felt stupid when it hit 7.5, and after some time in the doldrums felt MUCH better when it went past 40 the other day. I sold some at 41 and now have my stake money back (for another go somewhere) a 50%+ profit and half my original holding – a bumpy ride so far and still some to come.
I have read almost all the Jarvis posts since early November and learnt an awful lot – for the people new to ADVFN – use the HELP tab at the top right-hand corner of the screen, it’s a bit ‘clunky’ but the information is good and comprehensive if brief.
Looking forward to the New Year ride in the Jarvis theme park – and another low-priced share to buy into.
