True Java to run on Emosyn secure microcontroller

ID Data Technology and OneEighty Software have signed an agreement with Emosyn to make available the revolutionary Origin-J true Java capability on the Theseus Platinum family.
ID Data Technology and OneEighty Software have signed an agreement with Emosyn to make available the revolutionary Origin-J true Java capability on the worlds most advanced Flash based family of secure ICs, the Theseus Platinum family.
Origin-J, based on OneEighty's unique Origin technology, is an ultra-compact virtual machine that brings the benefits of true Java technology (J2SE) to Emosyn's new Theseus Platinum generation of Flash based microcontrollers.
Targeted at embedded systems, in particularly smart cards, Origin-J executes standard Java bytecode yet only occupies only 50Kbyte, including core libraries.
Flexible memory sizes and configurations of the Theseus Platinum family provide developers of extremely small systems with sufficient targeted memory to handle a wide range of end-customer applications.
Flash memory technology allows for reconfigurable systems and is well suited to remote upgrades, as well as "over-the-air" downloading.
