Lord Buffett - Thu, 22 Dec 05 :
AF showing another surprisingly strong day for yesterday (reach = 275) on Alexa, considering online Xmas shopping is supposed to be well past its peak by now; quite remarkable really.
Interestingly, today's RNS quantified November's turnover as being in excess of £750,000.
Anecdotally relating this to the Alexa reach figures, which of course comes with the usual caveats, we get the following figures:
November (30 days) average daily reach = 234 (AF.co.uk) + 89 (AF.com) = 323.
December (22 days) average daily reach = 259 (AF.co.uk) + 88 (AF.com) = 347.
Although December's daily average reach is currently running ahead of November's, obviously there will be a significant drop off in business over the Xmas holiday period, which will reduce the December average daily reach figure somewhat from where it is now.
My guess would be that December's turnover as a whole will be broadly comparable to November's, so that would make a total of about £1.5m turnover in the first two months of the new financial year.
(I have assumed that the e-commerce turnover is proportional to that of AF, which I doubt would be far out bearing in mind that IBG's whole business is based on e-commerce anyway.)
