Lord Buffett - Fri, 16 Dec 05 :
Going back to a previous poster's 'yer, but no, but my network's merchants are bigger than yuurrrs' argument, I think the Hawkin's Bazaar case is a very interesting case in point.
Look at the extremely rapid rise in the following Alexa metrics for Hawkins:
Traffic Rank for hawkin.com:
Today _ 1 wk. Avg. 3 mos. Avg. 3 mos. Change
13,737 __ 28,495 ___ 84,655 _____ 295,597
Reach for hawkin.com:
Reach per million users:
Today _ 1 wk. Avg. 3 mos. Avg. 3 mos. Change
_ 75 _____ 35.5 ______ 11 _________ 588%
This stellar rise ties in with Hawkins signing-up to AF.
AF has not only noted this, but highlighted it to affiliates, firstly through the forums and secondly in their affiliate newsletter - in fact the 'blast-off' phase during the last couple of days may be due to its potential being drawn to affiliates attention earlier this week. Furthermore the 'Hawkins Effect' may be largely responsible for the continuing all-time highs being recorded over the last few days as well.
I said when Hawkins first joined that their site looked great, with lots of interesting novelties etc, ideally suited to this time of year.
The point I'm making here is that affiliate marketing can very quickly turn an average business into a very significant one almost overnight - provided the merchant has a good offering and the network promotes it well to its affiliates.
