Joey Barton's brother sentenced to 17 years in racist murder
(AP) - LIVERPOOL, England-The brother of Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison Thursday for taking part in a racist attack in which two white men killed a black teenager with a mountaineering ax.
Michael Barton, 17, was convicted by a jury of taking part in the killing of Anthony Walker, 18, on July 29. He was sentenced to a minimum term of 17 years, eight months.
Although Michael Barton and Joey Barton are brothers, they were raised in separate homes.
