As regards Taylor....the manager and those responsible for the players fitness and well being have behaved in a crass and stupid fashion:
It was only just 6 weeks ago that Taylor injured his shoulder and 10 weeks was the time being talked about for his return. To then put him back into the side when Bramble had played well and was fit, shows a remarkable lack of understanding the perils of such ill-reasoned and badly thought out action. As well as the training staff who seem to cause loads of training injuries, and the coaching staff who do not teach the players how to play foootball basics, now it is the specialists who show their shortcomings............
Taylor injury blow for Newcastle
Steven Taylor statistics
Newcastle defender Steven Taylor could be out of action from between eight to 10 weeks with a shoulder injury.
The 19-year-old, who has been a regular in the Magpies team this season, hurt his shoulder while playing for the England Under-21s last week.
"It's a blow to us. The specialist says he will be out longer than first anticipated," manager Graeme Souness told the club website.
"It's about eight to 10 weeks, but I'm confident he will be back before that."
Taylor could now have a permenant problem with this shoulder....what a collossal and stupid mistake if he has been put at risk at such a young age.
