im not convinced by baros either and by the everton no 9 i assume you mean beattie, who im also not convinced about - but like you say along side owen he might do alright as a target man. there does seem to be a lack of quality strikers around at the minute (if crouch can get in the england squad then there is hope for me yet) and we dont seem to have much coming through the youth / reserves in that department either. i wonder if we could clone les ferdinand - exactly what we need to replace shearer.

i see parker is hoping that he can force his way into the england squad. i think that eriksson said alan smith was in the squad as a midfielder and if smith is a better midfielder than parker then it shows that you only have to figure in manchester uniteds selection plans to get a place in erikssons team. perhaps he wants his future players to get some international match practice before he takes over.
