taffee - Game was benefitting from the anticpation and releases of new game playing formats.Unlike HMV it isnt going to see a large proportion of its offer dwindling.I was listening to Quincy Jones talking about the future of music,and this guy is pretty switched on,and he believes that music is virtually going to have to be given away.He may be right and I think advertising linking up with downloading may be the way it is given away and how the music companies can protect and guarantee future revenue.Not good for HMV but downloading isnt there for the benefit of the retailers,at best it puts record companies closer to the consumer at worst it comes in the form of illegal downloading making it that music is not going to be the industry it once was;"changed forever" to quote Quincy.
Movies will do the same.Whats the point in HMV,VirginMega and MusicZone?There wont be as much thats for sure.It will force them out of a high street presence as at best CD/DVD sales will come direct to the consumer from warehouses.

Download deniars need to wise up.The CD was embraced very quickly partly because of convenience.Downloading is more accessible,cheaper,convenient,allowing consumers to cherry pick the best songs on an album,create their own compilations and inspired by improved MP3 players.People on here can argue about the sound quality not being quite as good but at the end of the day when most people will playing music through their car stereos and home stereos using an MP3 player what is the point of the CD anyway?A CD transferred to MP3 is the same quality as songs downloaded via the net.
