thailand43 - you may be interested to learn that ATA is a spin off of Ngamdee Cotton (Bang Na) which also owns Thai Gauze (On Nut) Gordon Wood set up Safasia in the year 2000 - a joint venture factory near Chon Buri which was the first in Thailand to attain both CE and FDA approvals for finished sterile goods to be sent to the USA. The factory now has the Monlycke contract and employs over 600 people.
I would suggest that the acquisition of ATA is simply a progression of a long relationship. In my earlier post I pointed you towards the MW site. My information is that the sales of Ebiox in Thailand are actually well ahead of expectations with significant uptake of the Ebiox instrument range in Thai hospitals.
Take a look at the other companies involved and I am sure you will find "comfort".
