I would suspect that how close the results are would be irrelevant to the calculation and is probably little more than pressing the 'Calc Now' button once all the data is entered in the correct form. If the result is close then there might be a large motivation to re-examine the cases of patients who were marginal includes/excludes from the data set ;)
Most likely that the work simply ran into the Christmas/New Year party season. Assuming work stopped completely over the holidays and resumes 2nd Jan then perhaps even expecting results next week is optimistic?
