nodding, some interesting ideas. However, the NHS will not pay for it until the National Institure of Clinical Excellence (NICE) gives the go ahead, and NICE are unlikely to give the go ahead until the MHRA have approved the drug. There are sometimes exceptions to this e.g. you will have heard the recent case re the new breast cancer drug, which has been approved but hasn't been given the go ahead by NICE, but somebody managed to obtain it under exceptional circumstances (but this is the exception rather than the rule).
I like the idea that an IND may be granted, now that would be news!
