...my dearest disciples...welcome to the new year...and i hope and pray that you are all in good health and in good spirits...as the wise have said...spare a thought for those unfortunate people in asia who have suffered such hardships over the last 1/4 of mooncycle...in times like these we should pay thanks for our lot to the Supreme Will...as the wise have said...we know not the mysterious ways of the Great Providence...and it is futile to try to find reasons for the tsunami...for the ways of the Supreme Will are unfathomable by our simple human minds...for we cannot and do not have the big picture...
...it is at times like these that we should give generously to the people who need it most...in order for them to survive this phase of their hardship...for as the wise have said...charity increases your wealth...and giving charity in secret is the best way of providing you benefit in this life and life hereafter...i was reading somewhere that some of our governments were indeed generous in pledging their money to help the people of iran during the earthquake of early 2003...however it appears that significant portion of this pledged money actually remained unpaid by these governments...this is indeed a sad state of affairs in our world...that even charity pledges are not followed up and seem to be done for show rather than actually helping the people in need...i urge you to give whatever you can feel you can afford...and surely you will be rewarded for this...as always take care...and me and my donkey wish you a very happy and prosperous 2005...
