Here is my calculations from information I have been able to gather why the dividend shares were not issued and held within GWG.

"Let us do some math - the moment that GWD started trading GWG shareholders owned 43% of Candle Lake and that percentage is the same whether it is owned through GWG or if GWG had dividended out all their GWD shares-no matter how it was done it is the same percentage because the other 47% ownership is issued to the public through the IPO, the balance of 10% is being held by those that provided the seed funding. Right now, investors should be happy that their ownership in Candle Lake is through GWG because you can imagine where the GWD share price would be over the next 2 or 3 years if there was another 10 million shares in the market from a dividend. This scenario became clear the moment GWD started to trade and I now know that the advice that GWG got telling them to keep the interest in GWD (and thus Candle Lake) within GWG was absolutely right.

That sounds confusing-but the bottom line is that the GWG shareholders retain the exact same interest in Candle Lake that they would have otherwise with the benefit of keeping that stock out of the marketplace so that the GWD share price can appreciate to a level where GWD can raise the $20 million needed for the next stage..."
