Coming back to this board after some period, I was concerned to read the "rumours" about financial reporting irregularities being the reason for the departure of the CFO Jonathan Brooks.
I cannot believe that there can be any foundation because firstly, Jonathan stays on the board until 1st March, secondly, if there were cause for concern, ARM would have been obliged to report such concerns. For an informed view on his departure see the AFX story of 12/12/01
With regard to resolution of the PicoTurbo dispute, this appears to be a complete victory for ARM and should remove all doubts concerning other companies nibbling away at the value of ARM's intellectual Property.
So far as the price is concerned, the uptrend from 205p(mid-market closing) on 20/9/01 to 443p on 19/11/01 has clearly been broken and despite rising briefly after the PicoTurbo announcement,it seems as if a down trend has been established. On the other hand, after rising on each of the last four trading days, today's closing of 366 is at the top of the channel.
So, as always in the case of ARM, watch this space closely.
