Has anyone thought what could happen to GMG if the trading report isn't as good as expected? I'm amazed to see such confident talk of this going to 80p when it is a pure gamble on an upcoming trading statement.
GMG warned just before Christmas. Companies don't put out a great trading statement out so shortly after an initial warning, which is usually retrospectively seen as a softening up for something worse.
I hope no-one is investing on the basis that this was recently standing at twice the price and more, and so think it should natually quickly move back towards that level. That very rarely happens after a warning and there are hundreds of examples to support that view.
Good luck to all, but be very careful in the lead in to the 10th, when I'm sure traders in these will be selling a day or so before.
Caveat Emptor.
