ENERGY MARKETS
The energy markets were mostly higher in overnight trade as they
consolidate some of Monday's losses.
February crude oil was higher overnight as it consolidates above the 20-
day moving average crossing at 32.06. Closes below the 20-day moving
average and then last week's low crossing at 31.25 would confirm that a
top has been posted while opening the door for a possible test of this
fall's uptrend line crossing near 30.25 later this winter. Last week's
decline turned the daily ADX (a trend-following indicator) bearish
signaling that a top has likely been posted. Overnight action sets the
stage for a steady to firmer tone in early day-session trading.
