LONDON, January 2 (New Ratings) – Analyst Guenther Hollfelder of HypoVereinsbank states that the sales estimates for the German semiconductor industry for 2003 are realistic.
In a research note published this morning, the analyst mentions that the Semiconductor Industry Association reported significant sales growth in Germany for November 2003. The year-over-year sales growth during November was 25.7%, significantly above the historical average, the analyst says. According to HypoVereinsbank, the microprocessor segment was the highest contributor to the impressive sales growth, followed by the flash memory segment.

A DrKW report (7 Feb 2003),gave geographical revenue breakdown for Eurodis for H1 2002/2003 as:
Germany 18%
Italy 18%
Nordic 18%
UK 13%
Benelux 11%
Switzerland 7%,
France 6%
Austria 5%
Eastern Europe 4%
No geographical breakdown I think in Eurodis Annual Report 2003.
(Think the change in $/Euro rate over last year might account for a lot of the quoted 25.7% increase above? On the eeca.org website, recent yr-on-yr growth figures for European semiconductor sector are far higher in $ than in Euro and they say the change in the exchange rate has a significant affect on the figures. But above report sounds positive enough...)
