The council has a statutory duty and contractual obligations to repair and maintain its tenants’ homes. This work is undertaken on behalf of the council under a contract that expires on 31 March 2007.
It was proposed that aspects of the new contract should come under a Partnering Agreement to be negotiated by a Partnership Board. The board would consist of council members, a tenant, a leaseholder representative and up to three contractor representatives, advised by council officers.
Cabinet agreed to award a new contract to Erinaceous Property Maintenance Ltd (formerly Spring Grove Property Maintenance plc) for an initial five-year period from 1 April 2007, subject to no matters arising from a statutory leaseholder consultation.'
