Well, well now,
India and China to finally waltz together, especially in Africa.
See:“ India, China to step up co-op in hydrocarbons sector” in today’s ZeeNews
(
But here’s the money paragraph:
“ONGC Videsh has tied up with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) for the exploration of oil in the joint development zone (JDZ) in Nigeria, ONGC Videsh Managing Director R S Butola said”
That's 41.7 % of Block 2 for starters…..with another 9% if they go after the EEL bit!
Thus, giving Wade/GS (and possibly SEO over at ERHC, but that’s another part of the story) a bit more leverage in these surreptitious talks with the Arabs.
So who’s it going to be then? The wily Al-thanis, the sheikh-funded posh Anglo-French highflyers from MPE, or… the Asian part of BRIC???
W’ll know soon enough.
