Anom - if you don't think anyone should take your financial advice it is probably best not to give it in the first place. If instead you say "I will buy as much as i can if it drops to 15p" it will cause you less soul searching if all doesn't go well. (Advice offered on my part with the best of intentions). If you think I am "sticking my nose in" where it isn't wanted I will remove this comment.
"If it goes to 15p - buy as much as you can, because you may never get another chance.
I am not licensed by the FSA and nobody should take any notice of my financial advice!!!!"
I hope this doesn't drop. Some will see it as a negative, (the timing of their announcements at the end of business makes it look like a dirty secret) but at least it wasn't arranged at a huge discount.
No you are quite right - if you're not recommending, then why say take no notice. I think they did release at this time because they perceived that both James and I were correct and the market would take it as a sign of weakness - to come to the market for more money when they should be selling diamonds instead.
The one saving grace is that they very probably will sell an awful lot of diamonds at the end of the month and so long as DB or someone else does not flood the market and depress prices yet again, then this time EPD will make a great deal of money. Enough to keep Lesotho running for a good few months and to prove that they can repeat the sales.
