The UK government is carrying out some environmental checks before announcing awards in the 24th licensing round. Final results of the round which were initially expected in September are due shortly, energy minister Malcolm Wicks said yesterday (Tuesday). "There has been a need to carry out some additional environmental checks. This process is now fairly close to completion. I very much hope that I will be able to announce the round results in the coming weeks," he said.
