FREEVIEW IN TESCO
Posted 16 December 2005 00:00 GMT
Freeview is advertising itself within the entertainment sections at 50 Tesco stores.
The digital service provider has commissioned free standing units, which include a touch screen, which it has had installed within the Tesco departments.
‘As mss merchandisers such as Tesco play a major role in the digital TV market, our challenge is to explain to customers the key benefits of the Freeview service’, said Freview’s Sophie Alexander.
Developed and installed by Retec Interface, the Freeview systems are designed to promote sales of digital set top boxes and televisions.
The touch screen application guides customers through a national post code search, which will help them find out if the Freeview service is available to them. It also carried a channel guide, clips from the most popular channels, and an instructional video on how to set the system up.
