Been searching for any data on the previous exploration history on the Ombu block. Haven't really found any. But, did find a second reference to the Helen block.



Emerald granted approval for two new E&P contracts - Colombia

Expanding its leasehold in Colombia, Emerald Energy has been granted approval for two new Exploration & Production (E&P) contracts. The ANH has given the UK-based operator the go ahead for the 298.99 sq km Llanos (Caguan-Vaupes) Basin Ombu E&P contract. During the first 11-month phase, Emerald is required to acquire 61km of 2D seismic and reprocess 60km of 2D data in the block. In addition, Emerald has been granted approval for the Helen E&P contract covering the 212.56 sq km in the Putumayo Basin. During the 10-month initial phase of this contract the company is required to acquire 30km of 2D seismic and reprocess 120km of 2D.


I did wonder if Helen was in fact Maranta?

Edit: But the repoted size of Maranta and Helen don't match up, and f you look on the most recent pdf from ANH, there are two areas under negotiation in the Putamayo area so maybe Helen is a separate block after all.
