Tech Punk...Sorry mate, but you are starting to repeat yourself. Just to clarify, zoo has patents (amongst other companies)on certain aspects of current DVD's. In effect imitating interactivity......But the new formats ARE interactive, hence no need for des...Actually its very simple and all in the public domain :)
Personally I think one of the major drivers behind the new formats will be copyright protection. All the studios and content owners are extremely keen to maximise their copyrights and shift to a safe media.
You mention developers, but they dont really care what tools they use as long as it gets the job done.Only a handful use zoo and then only for a few specific tasks. The advent of the new formats means they will simply move on to better tools. No reason to use software that doesnt work on the new formats is there.
I suppose zoo could cobble together something but Sonic is already ahead of them and zoo has no java experience, a hiding to nothing really.
But stick with them if you think they have a future, personally I dont.
One thing that does suprise me, with all your research how come you didnt spot that des has such a limited lifespan ?
