Afternoon all. Back from the mayhem! Actually it was very good, the eldest two girls are much too snooty now, to bother with toys - and spent most of the time with their new jewellery and clothes watching telly in their bedroom with their new freeview box. The youngest was asleep more times than not - which just left the middle three to hurl building blocks and sundry toys around the room!
The dinner was excellent with a couple of bottles of champers and other wine.
But as last year, will start to feel a bit peckish later - so the Julie put a joint of pork on a very low heat in the oven this morning. It will fall apart around 8pm, whereupon it will be slapped on granary bread for an evening feast!
The remainder will be left to add to the cold meats, salads, chips, pickles etc that are available tomorrow for the intrepid visitors!
PS -the slab of fillet steak I mentioned a few days ago will be relegated to Wednesday - I am not sharing that with the visitors!
Think I will open the bottle of '95 San Lorenzo to go with the pork - aint life grand. I will of course don me Diky Bo before saying grace!
