Why hasn't someone invented a remote control for your car that you operate from your bedroom, to start your car, get the blowers going, generally thaw the thing out so it's nice and snug by the time you get in it?
Seriously though, it's pretty sad that in northern Europe, where it's frosty most winter mornings, you still have to scrape ice off your car. Why aren't electrically heated windows all round standard on all cars sold in these parts of the world? They're not even available as optional extras on most cars, even made-in-Sweden Volvos. Many cars have a heated REAR window, but not windcsreen, how bonkers is that? The technology is there, and it's affordable.
Hopefully we will be laughing at this in 2020, and our grandchildren will be laughing at us, saying "you had to do what?", and "Did you have a man with a flag walking in front of the car too?"
I have never owned a car with a fit-for-purpose HVAC system. Never man enough for the job. Always too hot in summer, too cold in winter. My Freelander just about thaws out by the time arrive at the office. The Doris had a Ford Puma, and being tiny (the car not the Doris) that was pretty good.
