the mathematical case for averaging down is overwhelming,
- but only if more are bought low than high, the price eventually rises above
the average price paid, a long purse and patience can carry a wait, and total
loss is affordable and would not cause ruin. if the wait is excessive, there is the additional cost of lost opportunity to use the money elsewhere.
but the price wouldn't be this low if everyone were confident, so a view has to be taken, with the chance of being right or wrong .
